Ubuntu on Flash Drive

Ubuntu is a free Operating System based on GNU/Linux distribution. It's virus-free, stable, and open-source software. This operating system focuses more on usability and emphasizes accessibility and internalization. There are many software programs you can use just like your Windows machine. Most open-source softwares today will run on Ubuntu. In this article, I will provide a simple tutorial on how to install Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala) on a flash drive in a Windows machine.

Requirements:

2GB or larger capacity flash drive (FAT32)
Ubuntu 9.10 ISO

Instructions:

1. Download Ubuntu 9.10 ISO here.
2. Download and launch Universal USB installer here, select Ubuntu 9.10 Desktop i386
3. Once it is finished, set the BIOS to boot from the USB device and restart your machine then follow the instructions and don't forget to save the changes.

If all is well, you should be using your Ubuntu 9.10 Desktop (Karmic Koala).

Tekken

Tekken a Japanese word which means Iron (Tekk) Fist (Ken); a famous fighting game developed by NAMCO will come into the big screen this 2010.

The story goes sometime in 2039, where territories are ruled by corporations not by the governments. The mightiest of them all is the Mishima Zaibatsu owned by Heihachi Mishima, an experienced fighter. He announced the King of the Iron Fist Tournament which fighters battles another until one will be announced as the strongest.

Jin Kazama, a teenage fighter, grandson of Heihachi Mishima will join the tournament to avenge the death of his mother which he blames the corporation - Mishima Zaibatsu. To get close to the corporation, he needed to win the tournament and face the chairman, his grandfather, Heihachi Mishima. As the tournament goes on, he begins to discover his past and the demons within him inherited from his father, Kazuya Mishima.

When Pigs Fly

I heard this when I read this line:

With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine.

So I opened up UrbanDictionary to get the meaning. I thought it was a slang but it isn't. It is a hyperbole telling us that something will never happen for sure. To use it:

Guy 1: Dude, go out her.

Guy 2: Eww... When pigs fly...

It has the same definition as "Hell freezes over" as Wiki says and the most common Cebuano idiom - "Inig puti sa uwak".

Protect your images from HotLinking

Have you ever wonder why there is so much bandwidth you have on your invoice from web hosting companies? Then, someone leeched your images for their own personal use. This is what we call hotlinking or leeching. Wikipedia defines this as the use of a linked object, often an image, from one site into a web page belonging to a second site. The second site is said to have an hot linked to the site where the object is located. To stop users from hotlinking, upload an .htaccess file to the root of your site directory and copy this code.
